Are you retired from
regular employment?
It's time to get reconnected
There are times when we envy a retired citizen
- those of us in our 30's, 40's and 50's who try to manage society
and end up running ourselves to a frazzle.
MUCH HAS CHANGED since Gail Sheehy coined
that wonderful term "SECOND ADULTHOOD," in her book: New
Passages.
What was once thought of as a time of rest
and detachment can become a new lease on life. By the same reasoning,
it might be said that a 40- or 50-year-old is really in the babyhood
of a second adulthood, with a long, optimistic way to go. A healthy
attitude among the increased worldwide graying population, brings
hope that retirees can be a blessing to society.

Retirement
Many professionals and others, who led satisfying working lives
within institutions, find themselves in crisis at the time of retirement.
The phone is suddenly silent, and they have a hard time coping.
In addition, unplanned-for retirement can be a shock to the system,
which some do not survive. Help us to help you "find your feet"
again!
WHATEVER YOUR APPROACH TO LIFE: going back
to school, working as a volunteer or professional, or taking care
of family - stories about any of these experiences can help others.
Perhaps you're
housebound - never mind?
Fear that is amplified in loneliness can be relieved by an interested
friend. Even if you're limited in movement, this site can put you
in touch with wonderful people, whom you may never meet face to
face, but can love and care about.
Good luck in your search.
