How to choose
a username or password
You need a username and password to identity
you as a Site Member, and again,
as a Contributor to the Discussion
Boards
It is especially important in the Discussion
Boards to select a name: |

That expresses something about yourself. |

Is easy to remember. |
| |
|
If your name is in use by someone else, you
will need to choose an alternative name of your own creation. |
| |
|
|

Most important, select a name that
you're comfortable with.
Here are some ideas: |

Pick something cute or meaningful to only you,
like a nickname. e.g.: buddy, bluey. |
| |
|
Combine your first and last names. e.g.: peterdownes,
pdownes, peterd. |
| |
|
If your first name is quite common, add an
easy-to-remember number to it. e.g.: john66. |
| |
|
You can also place a number after your
last name. e.g.: wallace250. |
| |
|
Combine your name with a hobby or profession.
e.g.: JennyData, LarryDoctor. |
| |
NOTE: your username must be at least 4 characters in
length and consist of upper and lowercase letters and/or numbers.
No spaces are allowed between characters.
