Marcia
I'm nearly 50 (about
two months away) and as I look back 50 years I see that I am still
forming my personal story. But here's a summary of the first fifty...
I divide my life so far into three phases. Phase one was my childhood
which lasted until I was 18 years of age. I lived in my parents
home, the third child of four, the only girl. I was a very "good
girl" and excelled at everything I attempted. I didn't remember
until Phase 3 of my life that I was emotionally, physically and
sexually abused during the first phase of my life. Phase 2 was when
I began my career as a nurse, married the father of my son, started
my own business and dealt with very troubling family issues: Divorce,
invasive parents, being alone with a small child, and juggling all
the guilt associated with a divorce and the balancing act of raising
a career and a business (both full time). Phase 3 was when I reached
some level of maturity and started to remember the abuse of my childhood,
met my husband (soul-mate), reached success with my business, sold
my business, and managed to steer my son through very tough years
- some of which are not over yet. I'm now entering Phase 4 and I'll
tell you about that when I'm closer to Phase 5! I'm an eternal optimist,
a competitive and fun-loving person and I really enjoy life. I was
blessed with a steel core with a sensitive wrapping... I'm thankful
for that. |
